What do tattoos say about you? Why do people want to have this permanent art on them? What is my take on faith and tattoos?
What do tattoos say about you?
Honestly I think it shows that you are willing to stand out and be yourself. But at the same time I think it is very unprofessional and don't believe that it is a good thing in a higher education work place. It make you look kind of uneducated. I know that isn't always true but that's how most people view it. I heard from employers that they would most likely never pick someone with a tattoo that is visible because it looks bad and gave them a bad idea about who this person is.
Why do people want to have this permanent art on them?
Most people want it because they like the look of them. Others have a meaning behind what the tattoo symbolizes. They feel that it is there way of having themselves show themselves. Others believe that it is a fine art and they want this on them. I think it is personally fine to have a tattoo or two, but if you are covered in them and they don't have any meaning behind it then why get one. I see both sides but I honestly will never get one unless something dramatically changes in my life.
What is my take on faith and tattoos?
Many people have religious tattoos to show there faith and what they have gone through to get to it. I think that is very emotional and would be cool to hear the story. But my question to them would be why cant you show your faith in other ways. But I cant judge them. It is their choice. Just like I would want people to judge me for what I wear or say. Its kind of sad how much nagging people do about tattoos. Tattoos are just different then what I grew up around. I think it is perfectly fine if someone says "I have a tattoo". It is their choice. Just like it was God's choice to put them on this planet. God gives us these bodies to be his children. And to be different or have a meaning many people get tattoos.
So if you have a negative opinion about tattoos think about what you might wear or say that others may judge. Its your choice to say or have these things. Please don't judge others.

Easter
Easter is the day that we celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. I love Easter for many reasons. First it is
usually a time for my family to get together, which is really nice now that we
aren’t always in one spot. My sister came to spend the weekend at home, which
is really nice because we miss her so much and all these little moments mean so
much to us.
Second Easter is a time to rejoice and to
celebrate. Yes we celebrate it each year but it’s a great reminder to remember
that our sins are forgiven. It’s a great time to thank God for giving His only
son to come and die for us. It’s truly an amazing thing to think about. It’s
the time of the year that in church we really talk about what eternally Jesus
did for us. He did all these miracles other times in the bible but this is the
one time that He gave ALL of us a miracle.
Third I love this time because of the food. I
love egg casserole and I usually don’t get it that often so its really yummy on
Easter morning to go to church and help serve the food then get to eat some
too. Plus I really like ham, which we normally have in some form. And last I
love Jell-O eggs.
Finally I love Easter because it is the start
of spring and I always get excited for spring because I love the smell of after
it rains and the flowers. Plus I get to be outside again after a long winter of
being cooped up inside.
Many people don’t think of Easter as being one
of their favorite holidays but it is one of mine because it is just something
different then like a birthday or Christmas. So remember on Easter what God did
for us when He gave us Jesus.
Golf
Faith is like a game of golf. People go
through a different course with their faith. All are different in ways but same
in others. Some times the course of faith goes left and right other times it is
a straight shot. Every so often you have ups and downs. But the most import
part of faith is the fact that no one can play it the same way as you.
So if you don’t golf then you probably didn’t
get any of those stupid puns in there. While I was writing it I was just trying
to make up stuff but then I was like wow this is actually really true. And now
I will think about how golf is like faith all the time.
People go through a different course with
their faith. This means that everyone’s “course” is different from the person
next to them. Some people start their faith really young while others start
older. Some go through rough patches before finding God. Every golf course is
very different I have not seen any that are even close to each other.
Some times the course of faith goes left and
right other times it is a straight shot. This in faith is when something
“turns” for the worse or the best. So like if a relative dies suddenly and you
have to question your faith. On coursed many of the holes are straight but then
there are many that turn to the left or right.
Every so often you have ups and downs. These
are the good and bad parts of your faith. When something fails and you question
God or those moments were you find Him again. In golf an up and down in a chip
and a putt. Many times you have many ups or many downs but over all they
usually even out. But in golf you want to have fewer downs because putts take
up so many strokes.
But the most import part of faith is the fact
that no one can play it the same way as you. Even if the course you are on is
very similar no two people can play it the same way. So this is like the fact
that so many people are Lutheran but no one has the exact same way of getting
there. Some people may end up in the rough a lot more then others. Some people
my get to the final goal of their faith a lot faster then others.
So this made up little thing I just did will
stick with me when I’m golfing this season. But the key to me is that No one is
the same with their faith so just understand that even if you disagree it is ok
and no one is more right then others.
Heaven
Have you
ever thought about what heaven will look like. We are told that it looks very
different for everyone. It is a mix of all the good times we had. So is there
like many different "towns" in heaven or is it just viewed
differently among us. Does our version of heaven change if we would have died
as a kid or if we would have died as an adult?
There is
no way of knowing right now so all we can do is imagine.
So, my
heaven would look a little like this -
To start
of the setting would be in the woods. With many trails and animals that walk
outside the cabin. The weather is warm but not too hot. Mainly around 60 - 70
degrees. There is a light breeze that gives you the shivers at times. Weather
can't be perfect everyday because I would miss having those darn hot and cold
days. Flowers that give the air that nice spring feel. Ohh how I love that time
of the year after there was a very heavy rain storm and so every one is cutting
there lawn so all I can smell is that smell of cut grass.
Then there
would have to be some people because I would get lonely at time so I would love
to have family and friends there to share this wonderful time. ohh and the fact
that I will have time. All the time in eternity. Honestly I think it could get
a little boring but who cares I'm in God's kingdom.
That is
what my version of my heaven would look like but honestly I’m not sure if that
is really what it would be like. And honestly it will change mostly by the time
I do die. Until then I will hold on to those happy times because those are most
likely what heaven will be like. And also hold on to them because they are the
moments we have to live for and to help us get through those rough patched.
So when
you have a few seconds think about what heaven may look like for you. It’s definitely
something that makes you think. Also don’t think about it to long because it
really doesn’t matter at this point in life. As long as you’re on earth (or in
space) heaven is just a thought and something we have to believe in. Only when
we pass on, it will become a reality.

Survivor
Survivor is a TV
series were about 18 people are taken out into some desolate place and dropped
off for 39 days to see who becomes the sole survivor. They start with 2-4 teams and compete against
each other until they mix up the teams. Then about half way through they merge
the teams together. They have challenges that are for reward and immunity.
These challenges usually consist of physical and mental challenges. After and
immunity challenge the team to loses goes to tribal council and vote off one of
their own. When they get to the final
three or two the jury (who is about the last 9 to be voted off) puts their vote
in and they vote for the winner. So ultimately who ever plays has the final say
in who gets voted off and who wins.
They started
making seasons in 2000 and are on their 32 season. The producers make each
season something new. So they have had competitions between ethnicity, gender,
family members, fans vs. favorites, all stars, and brawns vs. beauty vs. brain.
There are many other themes they have done too. These keep in interesting
because its something new and not just randomized. It’s a social game that can
go so many different ways. Pretty much it’s a social experiment that is put on
television for all to see.
Why am I
obsessed with this show? Well its simple. It gives me time with my family. We
all love the show and it gives us time together and we talk about it a lot when
its not on too. We talk about each player and if we like them or not. We
usually try to figure out who will win and why they will win. Sometimes we are
right and sometimes we aren’t. Whenever the season is over we find out when the
next one is going to start and put in on the calendar.
I also love
survivor because it makes me think about how I would be on the show and the
whole social part is really fun to watch too. I also love watching the
challenges and figuring out the logic behind it and how they created it.
Because they create them so fast I like to think about how many people are behind
the scenes while all this is happening. I juts get hooked on the show and I
always can’t wait till the next Wednesday when it is on again.
So how does this
relate to God? Not sure really. But its something I love and care about. And I
know that God gave me thing love. He gives everyone something that they love to
do. It can pretty much be anything. My love is survivor and the family time
that comes along with it. So think about what God gave you to love. And how
much pride you might have in that love. Its truly amazing to have something
that you love to do.
Packing and Thinking
Have
you ever gone on a long trip?
Or
even a short trip?
Have
you ever had to pack?
Packing
clothes can be frustrating and plan annoying. But you have to think of it this
way… Have you ever wandered why clothes became a common practice? Like I
understand that Adam and Eve felt that they had to wear something but why do we
really find that we have to. Honestly over time if no one wore anything then
that’s what would be normal. Like think about it with anything. Why do we brush
our hair or go to school. It’s just what we were brought up to learn.
Packing
always makes me think of these weird questions. They get in your head and no
one truly knows the answer. If there were an answer to everything then that
would be awesome. But there isn’t. We have to use our own knowledge to figure
things out. Maybe clothes were God wanting a struggle or us to be different.
Know one knows what God thinks.
I
think that would be the coolest though. To see Earth like God does. But I guess
He puts these though into our heads so it is kind of thinking like Him. Only we
only get a very small portion of His thought. Which I am not complaining about
because I know that there are so many people in the world and having some
thought of God is truly a blessing.
The Week
What
day does the week actually start on? Does it start on Monday or Sunday?
This
question has probably been a thought in your mind. There are so many different
thought on when does a week actually start. Most calendars say Sunday but work
and school week start on Monday. So what one do we follow? Does it even matter
if we follow a week?
Almost
all calendars start the week on Sunday. So that the week ends with Saturday.
They split the weekend up. Which they call the weekend “weekend” for a reason.
They usually fall at the end of the week. Then I think about how my planner
starts with Monday. So why is all this commercial good different? My guess is
that no one really said when the week starts. No one quote “invented” what day
the week started on. I bet someone could have started the week on Thursday and
if that was what was normal then that’s how it would go. But why is there two
days that are the first of the week. I know that it can get confusing. Well not
really but I know my friends and me talk about it sometimes.
Honestly
I think the week starts on Monday. Not because I don’t like commercialized
calendars or anything. I just know that I end my week off with God and Sundays
are usually for that. In the bible God rests on the 7th day and He
say that everything was good. He called this day the Sabbath. When I think
about what Sabbath day means I think of day with God. The day I go to church.
This would be Sunday and so on this day I say is the 7th day. Which
means the last day of the week.
But
then I just realized that some people go to church on Saturday so is there
Sabbath day Saturday then. That means they would start the week on Sunday. But
then what does the pastor do. You don’t usually work on the Sabbath do does his
week start on Tuesday then. Its so complicated that I say there is no first day
of the week. Everyone takes days off even if they are in the middle of everyone
else’s day. There doesn’t have to be a so-called “week” there just has to be
days and mouths and years. These are easy to tell when they start and finish.
Well for the most part anyway.
